Climbing introduces a different movement pattern from floor-based play. The wall layout, route difficulty and operating instructions should match the intended users. Age and use restrictions depend on the selected equipment and operating arrangements.

A climbing area in a commercial venue

Consider a separate waiting space and clear circulation so users and spectators do not obstruct the activity. Staffing, routine checks and maintenance need to be planned alongside the equipment.
